At Luma Foundation, our mission has always been to support cutting-edge medical technology that transforms patient care. Today, we’re thrilled to celebrate a huge milestone: thanks to incredible fundraising efforts and the generosity of our supporters, Leeds Children’s Hospital now has access to state-of-the-art robotic surgical equipment, the Laparo Apex machine.
This advanced technology will revolutionise paediatric and neonatal surgery, improving surgical precision, reducing operation times, and speeding up recovery for young patients across Yorkshire. But beyond immediate patient benefits, the Laparo Apex machine will play a crucial role in enhancing surgical training, ensuring that the next generation of paediatric surgeons are equipped with the best tools and knowledge.
Raising over £78,000 for this initiative has been a team effort, and we extend our deepest gratitude to the Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust and the Kusuma Trust for their generous contributions. Their support has helped bring this technology to life, making a real difference to young patients and their families.
This achievement marks just the beginning, at Luma Foundation, we remain committed to driving innovation in medical technology and improving outcomes for young patients.
